Arista Law & Tax Hosts Fundraiser to Reelect Judge Monica Gordo
In June, Arista Law & Tax hosted a fundraiser in support of Monica Gordo, judge of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court, Criminal Division, judicial candidate. Judge Gordo’s term expires on January 2, 2017, but she will seek re-election in 2016.
The fundraiser was well-attended by friends and family in support of Judge Gordo, and Arista Law & Tax is in full support of her re-election.
“I was honored to be able to host this event for Monica as she is a good friend and is dedicated advocate of the judicial system. It is crucial for us to keep morally sound and hardworking individuals like Monica Gordo on the bench in an effort to make our community a better place,” said Ed Arista, managing attorney at Arista Law & Tax.
Judge Gordo received both her B.B.A. degree and her J.D. degree from the University of Miami. Upon admittance to the Florida Bar, Judge Gordo joined the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office as an assistant state attorney. At the time of her election to the circuit court in 2010, she was a special prosecutor in the Gang Strike Force of that office. Judge Gordo was elected to office in 2010, securing 61.4% of the votes.
